This was a special case to mount the SPD in the panel. Please do not mount the SPD in the panel. I have added some links to show you how to install a SPD flush mount and surface mount. I hope these video will help you to install the SPD safely. Make sure to always turn off the power if you are not an electrician.

Shouldn’t that green ground wire be with the other green ground wires?
Can this be installed at the main box outside on the pole? I am out of room in my box in the house but I have plenty of room there.

Well that’s not very smart because now you have to take off the panel cover just to see if the indicator lights are still lit up to see the surge protector is still working,however I’m thinking he only did this because the panel was installed in the wall which is also not very smart
